The Mallorca312 wants to stand out because of its social and environmental engagement. This desire has led us to initiate different initiatives and collaborations since the first edition.
Since 2013, aware of the great inequalities in the third world, we collaborate with UNICEF donating 2€ of each entry to their cause. In the 2014 edition, another 2€ of the registration fee were given to Tot(s) per Sa Serra, a commission in charge of the recovery of the forests of the Sierra de Tramuntana which were affected by a major fire in July 2013. In the 2015 edition, we will donate 1€ of the registration fee to the Civil Protection of the Balearic Islands, whose volunteer work makes the event possible.
The commitment of the Mallorca312 does not end here. Since 2014 we cooperate with Ferromolins, one of the pioneering companies in the recovery sectorThey are in charge of the separate collection and treatment of waste.
Furthermore, we in the Mallorca312 believe in the integration of athletes with special needs. The handbikers are welcome to the Mallorca312 because nobody can set limits to the human will. Our hero, Oliver Pohling, proved it and was able to finish the Mallorca312 in 2012. He opened the way to other handbikers and taught us that it is possible to circumnavigate the island with his arms. From then, we do not believe in iron cyclists. We believe in cyclists from the heart.
